Terms of Service
IN-HOME PET SITTING TERMS OF SERVICE
PAYMENT & FEES
Cash or check may be left on the day you leave.
Checks: make payable to Lyndie Kelley.
Electronic forms of payment are due 72 hours prior to the first visit. I can email a secure payment link, along with the invoice, for you to pay via credit card or debit card.
If electronic payment is not received before payment is due, visits will be cancelled.
During the meet and greet, please let me know how you would like to pay.
KEYS
It is recommended that a spare key be made for me to keep which will be picked up during the meet and greet. All keys are kept in a secure and private area. If you do not want me to keep your key, you can use a lock box, a hide a key, a coded door, coded garage door, etc.
If you are using a coded door, it is recommended that you have a hide a key in case the battery dies. Keys are never left in the home in case your return is delayed.
There is a $10.00 pick up and return key fee if you would like your key returned and choose not to use a method listed above.
PET SUPPLIES
Please ensure that your pet(s) have everything they need prior to your departure.
If your pet(s) requires pet supplies (food, medications, bottled water, litter, etc) to be picked up because they ran out, there is a $5.00 pick up and delivery fee for all pet supplies.
I will take a picture of the receipt after the item(s) are purchased and send you a payment link via email. Please pay for the item(s) in 24 hours.
VET VISITS
Pet parents are responsible for the time spent with your pet(s) at the vet. The cost is the same as my pet sitting pricing which can be found on my website. It is based on the travel time it takes to drive to and from the vet and the time spent at the vet’s office. Furthermore, pet parents are responsible for all veterinary costs.
CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel upcoming visits, please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Any visits cancelled without 24 hours’ notice will not be refunded. Any slight change in my schedule impacts my other clients that I am caring for so communication is critical to ensuring that all pets under my care receive proper time and attention.
EARLY RETURNS
If you are going to return home earlier than we discussed, you must notify me a minimum of 24 hours before your arrival home. If I do not receive this communication, the visits that we had already agreed upon will not be refunded. Any slight change in my schedule impacts my other clients that I am caring for so communication is critical to ensuring that all pets under my care receive proper time and attention.
DELAYED RETURNS
It is the responsibility of the pet parent to notify me if your return is going to be delayed so that I can ensure your pet still receives the care they need until you get home.
Payment is due within 24 hours for additional pet sitting visits.
PET CARE POLICIES
Please leave written instructions for your pet(s) medication and supplement needs prior to your departure. It is very important to me that your pet’s medication and/or supplements are administered correctly and at the appropriate time. Therefore, I require that all medications and supplements are documented by the pet parent for safety.
It is the responsibility of the pet parent to inform me of changes to food, health, medications, behavior, etc.
It is the responsibility of the pet parent to notify me if your pet(s) have any form of aggression or bite history with other animals or humans. A history of aggression does not exclude your pet(s) from pet sitting services. However, it is critical to my safety and the safety of other humans and animals that you are transparent and honest about your pet’s behavior. Please notify me if your pet(s) currently has or has had a history of food aggression, toy aggression, territorial behaviors, jealousy issues (multi-pet household), barrier aggression (fence fighting), biting, attacking other animals, attacking humans, etc.
All pets are to be kept inside a secure climate-controlled area while you are away. If your AC or heat is off and either is required for your pet(s) to be comfortable and/or safe, the appropriate setting will be turned on. Your pet’s comfort is very important to me.
Due to the nature of working with animals, all visit times are approximate.
Please text me when you are on your way home, day or night.
Cats will not be let outside while you are away, even if you allow them to roam when you are home. In Florida, it is extremely dangerous for cats to roam. They may come into contact with a coyote, loose dog, various wild animals, other territorial cats that may or may not have diseases/vaccines/parasites, pesticide applications in yards, trash and material that could cause injury or be ingested, stinging and biting insects, cars, people with nefarious intentions, and more. Your cat’s safety and wellbeing is my number one priority.
If pets are allowed access to your patio, balcony, lanai, and/or backyard while I am not present, please understand the dangers and security concerns that come with that. Pasco and Hernando are notorious for coyotes jumping fencing and going through lanai screens to kill pets of all species and sizes. Additionally, other animals (wild and domesticated) and humans may access your property without your knowledge.
I do not use prong collars, shock collars, spray bottles, shaker cans, “correction” spray, anti-bark products, electric fences, or any other device or tool that causes fear, anxiety, harm, pain, and/or intimidates your dog(s). If you have an electric fence, I will take your dog(s) outside on leash. If you use any of the above-mentioned tools for your dog(s) and do not have an appropriate alternative, I will bring my own.
If you have any questions on why I do not use certain tools, please feel free to ask. I would be happy to educate you on alternative methods that are more effective, safe, and kind. Your dog’s comfort and safety are my number on priority.
I do not offer pet sitting for wild animals or “exotic” pets from the pet trade, “legal” or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited to wolves, wolf hybrids, wild cats, wild cat hybrids, monkeys, and more. Just because it is “legal”, does not make it ethical.
